What are the blue highlights in the contract?

Edited

Highlights are visual cues that appear as blue highlighting in your document where DraftPilot has identified drafting suggestions. They allow you to scroll through your document in your preferred order while easily spotting clauses where DraftPilot has redline suggestions.

How to Use Highlights

Navigating with Highlights

  1. Scroll through your document as you normally would

  2. Click anywhere within a highlighted section to get DraftPilot to show its drafting suggestion in the add-in

  3. Review the redline suggestion that appears in the DraftPilot panel

  4. Choose to apply or ignore the suggestion based on your judgment

Working with Suggestions

  • When you click a highlight, Draftpilot automatically opens the relevant playbook entry that contains the redline suggestion.

  • Select "Apply Markup" to implement the suggestion (changes appear as track changes)

  • Select "Ignore" if you prefer to keep your original text

  • Once addressed (either applied or ignored), the highlight disappears

Highlight are temporary

  • Highlights are temporary and only visible while using DraftPilot

  • When you close the add-in, all highlights disappear

  • Highlights are not visible to counterparties when sharing documents

  • They function solely as visual cues for your review process

Common Questions

Q: Will others see my highlights if I share the document?
A: No, highlights are temporary visual elements only visible to you while you're using the DraftPilot add-in.

Q: How do I remove highlights after reviewing them?
A: Highlights automatically disappear once you apply or ignore the suggestion. All highlights vanish when you close the Draftpilot add-in.

Q: I just accepted a redline suggestion, but the highlight is still there?
A: This means that there is another redline suggestion within DraftPilot for that same clause (under a different playbook entry). Clicking the highlight again will open up that additional suggestion.

Q: Can I disable all highlights?
Yes, just hover over the DraftPilot logo at the bottom left of the add-in and click disable highlights:
