Running an AI review (on redlines on your own Template)

Edited

Overview

You can use DraftPilot’s AI to review customer redlines on your own contract templates — like your MSA, SaaS terms, or DPAs.

This lets you apply your internal playbook logic to redlined versions of your own paper, so you can review faster and more consistently.

Step 1: Make sure you’ve created an “Own Template Playbook”

Before running a review, you’ll need a playbook that’s aligned to your own template.
The demo video below shows you how you can do that.

Step 2: Open your redlined version

Open the Word file containing the redlines from your counterparty. DraftPilot will automatically detect tracked changes and comments.

Step 3: Run the review

In Word:

  1. Open the DraftPilot add-in.

  2. Go to Playbooks

  3. Select your playbook (the one created for your own template).

  4. Choose which author's tracked changes you want the AI to analyze (for example, exclude changes made by your own team).

  5. Click Start Review.

Step 4: Review AI suggestions

DraftPilot will:

  • Review each tracked change against your playbook’s approved positions and fallbacks.

  • Highlight which changes are acceptable, need edits, or require escalation.

  • Suggest redlines and comment bubbles you can apply directly in Word.

  • If multiple valid fallbacks or reasonable alternatives exist, it will show several options so you can use your judgment to choose the best one.

Step 5: Apply suggestions

Click Apply next to any suggestion to insert the recommended tracked changes and comment bubbles. You can edit them before finalizing.
