DraftPilot not loading?

1. The Document Is Read-Only:

   • DraftPilot requires edit access to the document. If the document is read-only, the add-in cannot load.

2. The Document Is Protected:

   • Password-protected or restricted editing settings can prevent DraftPilot from functioning properly.

3. The Document Is in an Older Format:

   • Documents saved in formats like .doc (used in Word 97-2003) lack support for modern add-in capabilities.

Step 1: Check If the Document Is Read-Only

• How to Identify:

  1. Look for a banner at the top of Word indicating the document is read-only.

  2. Check the file’s properties:

     • Right-click the file in File Explorer.

     • Select Properties.

     • Look for the Read-only attribute.

  1. If the file is marked as read-only in its properties:

     • Uncheck the Read-only attribute.

     • Click OK.

  2. If the document is shared, request edit access from the owner.
